Description:

Established in Dumfries in 1845, Shortridge is a family-owned business providing commercial laundry services to the hospitality sector throughout South Scotland and North England from our sites in Dumfries, Workington and Darlington.

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities of Production Operator. This list is not exhaustive and the management may make other reasonable requests that additional duties be performed within the remit.

1. Washing:

• Sorting soiled and clean linen into categories and all activities associated with preparation of linen to be washed.
• Operating washing machines and other machines in the wash house including but not limited to dryers, monorail systems, press, shuttles, and conveyors.

2. Finishing:

• Operating industrial ironing lines and folders.
• Hand folding linen.
• Achieving production targets.

3. Packing

• Packing orders to consignment notes in a timely and accurate manner.
• Organising and preparing orders for dispatch.
• Communicating with Transport and Customer Services to ensure their requirements are met.

4. General

• Attend briefing meetings,
• Achieve agreed production targets for throughput and quality.
• Maintain quality standards and reject product outside of specifications.
• Communicate with Supervisors and co-workers where required to achieve the best results.
• Ensure a clean and safe work area.
• Liaise with supervisors and/or Maintenance Engineer on any machine issues.
• Work alternative shift patterns where required (early shift / back shift).
• Achieve projects or objectives assigned to you by Production Manager/Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
