Vanessa Cornwall, Account Manager, has been with us for six months. Here she shares what makes her tick…
My typical day involved visiting our valued key clients at various beautiful hotels, restaurants and guest houses in and around the spectacular Lake District to ensure they are met with nothing but the best service and quality from Shortridge Laundry.
Every day is like a lucky packet – no two days are the same. This keeps things exciting and is made even better because I get to be part of a really supportive, funny (sometimes ha-ha, sometimes peculiar) team!
What do you do for fun?
I am a vintage/thrift junkie, who loves scouring antique/second hand shops and markets for clothes, shoes, quirky kitsch and any olden day treasures. Music is my best friend and I love going to watch my favourite music bands play live. I collect picture books – be it fashion, design, art, music related – anything bright and expressive catches my eye. I take photographs on my mobile phone wherever I go, and my Instagram account has become a sort of visual diary for those.
What did the 10 year old Vanessa want to be once grown up?
I wanted to be a veterinarian – but when I learnt I would need to study for 9 years to qualify, I decided to give that idea a skip!
Have you got family, pets or house plants you’re responsible for?
I have a husband, a teenage son and a pre-teen daughter, A Scotty and a Parson cross terrier, and an ever growing family of house plants so, I would say I have my responsibilities cut out for me!
What thing about you would someone not read on your CV or socials?
I brake for pigeons…
